Synopsis:

After 25 years behind bars, Arnold Trevino takes recently incarcerated individuals out into the wilderness, where he has found solace, to connect with a natural world they have never had access to. Arnold brings a new group out to the Tule River Reservation, where his partner Donna lives, for a long weekend exploring the Sequoia National Forest and connecting with their inner selves, to discover what is precious and what can be released.

Chihiro Wimbush

Chihiro Wimbush is a former Bay Area Video Coalition MediaMaker Fellow, Sundance Creative Producing Institute invitee, Big Tell storyteller, and a participant in the inaugural On Being Gathering, hosted by Krista Tippett, featuring change-makers from around the world. Chihiro co-directed/co-produced and filmed the Emmy nominated documentary feature “Dogtown Redemption” following the lives of homeless recyclers in Oakland. His most recent film "Ricochet" (made with the late San Francisco Public Defender Jeff Adachi) spotlights SF public defenders defending their client in a historic trial with national repercussions.

Arnold Trevino

After serving 25 years in prison, Arnold Trevino got his Bachelors and Masters degree at Fresno State University. Arnold now assists with Project Rebound, a student support services program for formerly incarcerated students at California State University, Fresno. He also works as a Program Manager for Insight Garden Program, transforming prisoners’ lives through connection to nature.
