Synopsis:

In the 1970s & 80s women from all over the world marched alongside Cypriot women displaced by war to the Green Line dividing the island in an attempt to ‘walk home’. Women Walk Home unearths a 50-year old, intentionally hidden, women-led movement in Cyprus as women’s movements are reigniting around the world.

Filmmakers:
Stephanie Andreou

Stephanie Andreou is an Emmy and Academy Award nominated filmmaker based in Los Angeles. Her films often explore anti-imperialism, survival, and zombie late capitalism. Her credits include BREAK THE GAME, TRUE BELIEVER, MOMENTS LIKE THESE NEVER LAST, TIME, GOLDEN, LIGHT OF FREEDOM and have screened at Sundance, True/False, Tribeca, Full Frame, NYFF and Rotterdam. She has been a fellow at UnionDocs Collaborative Studio, Karen Schmeer Film Editing, Sundance Art of Editing, Sundance Documentary Edit and Story Lab, True/False Film Festival and Catapult Film Fund Rough Cut Retreat.Her first feature, FREEDOM IS A PLACE, received support from The Gotham, NYSCA and Sundance and is currently in development.

Adrián Gutiérrez

Adrián Gutiérrez is a Mexican documentary filmmaker. His credits include Archival Producer for CHAVELA (Netflix), THE LAST OUT (POV), OMARA, SPICE ROAD (PBS Food), and THE WILD, Associate Producer and Archival Producer for SIQUEIROS: WALLS OF PASSION (PBS World Channel), Archival Researcher for ISLAND OF BASEBALL, Field Producer for ENEMIES OF THE STATE (IFC Films) and Field Associate Producer for KINGDOM OF SHADOWS (Participant, POV). Adrián has also worked as a local producer and VJ for BBC Reel and ITN. Adrián was a fellow at UnionDocs Collaborative Studio 2017 where he co-directed WHAT WE HAVE BUILT, which premiered at BAM Cinemafest.
