Work In Progress
Synopsis:

In the midst of a global pandemic, the opportunity to work at one of the world's largest tech companies compels New Orleans native “Queen Tahj” Williams to leave the only home she’s ever known. After spending half her life sewing suits to celebrate the sacred Mardi Gras Indian culture, the “Young Queen” must now consider her legacy and finish her grand finale—“Black Suit”—inspired by the power of African queendom.

Filmmakers:
E'jaaz Mason

Director E’jaaz Mason is a lifelong resident of New Orleans. Mason began his film career in 2010 as a grip and gaffer before moving into the camera and production departments. Early in his career, Mason was fortunate enough to work closely with legendary film director Spike Lee and Oscar winning cinematographer Sean Bobbitt on their 2013 film ‘OldBoy’. It was Bobbitt’s attention to detail and his “shoot for picture not for post” approach to camera and lighting that inspired Mason to almost always act as his own cinematographer in addition to producing, directing, and editing all of his films including ‘Black Suit: Sewing [HER]story’.
